Maharashtra’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) is carrying out a statewide operation in which it questions 112 people over alleged links to Pakistan-based gangster Shehzad (Shahzad) Bhatti, officials said. ATS teams from all 14 units begin searches at multiple locations across the state and question the identified individuals at their residences as part of an ongoing investigation.

According to officials, Bhatti allegedly uses social media to establish contact with youths and attempt to influence or incite them toward anti-national activities. The ATS operation is intended to verify the nature of these contacts, examine digital evidence, and determine whether any unlawful activities have taken place. Investigators are also looking to establish the extent of any alleged network and whether any criminal offences have been committed.

Multiple outlets report that questioning is in progress and that no arrests have been made so far. The action is described as coordinated and evidence-focused, with ATS officers seeking further details and corroboration during the verification process.
