India’s men’s cricket team is undergoing a performance review after losing the T20I series to England on its ongoing UK tour. Following India’s defeat in the fourth T20I in Bristol, reporting indicates that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering an assessment of both players and the coaching staff. According to a BCCI source cited by News18, India’s results on the tour have been poor, with five losses in six T20 matches played so far. News18 also reports that the first two defeats came against Ireland, while India’s only non-loss outcome in the sequence was a no-result due to rain. NDTV links the review to the series loss as well, describing it as a performance check after the England defeat. While BCCI’s head coach Gautam Gambhir is reported to have a contract running until 2027, News18 says his position is also coming under scrutiny in light of the team’s recent performances. The reported review is focused on on-field outcomes and overall team display during the tour.
