Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announces that all schools in Delhi will conduct “good touch, bad touch” awareness sessions as part of a citywide campaign under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Gupta says the initiative, planned for July, includes mandatory child safety protocols and requires schools to submit compliance reports within a set period. The campaign involves multiple stakeholders, including parents, teachers, Delhi Police, district magistrates and anganwadi workers.

The programme includes establishing child protection committees in schools by the end of July and training teachers and school staff on the POCSO Act and related child-safety procedures. Educational and vocational guidance counsellors are expected to run sessions for students on safe and unsafe touch, personal boundaries and gender sensitisation. The effort also includes self-defence training for students. Delhi Police coordinates through designated nodal officers at the district level and works with a women and children unit.

Women and Child Development Department teams conduct awareness activities at anganwadi-cum-palna centres and other child-care facilities using videos, mobile awareness vans and publicity material, aiming to strengthen and institutionalise child protection measures within school systems.
