The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arraigns an alleged drug baron, Anochili Innocent, along with three Mexican nationals and six other Nigerians before a Federal High Court in Lagos. The defendants face an 11-count charge linked to the establishment of a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in Mowe village (also described as Mowe Forest), Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to the allegations reported by multiple outlets, the operation involved producing 2,419.48 kilograms of methamphetamine. The suspected value is reported as more than 480 billion naira in international market terms. The arraignment is before Justice Musa Kakaki at the Federal High Court.
Following the proceedings, the suspects are remanded in prison as the case moves forward, with one outlet citing that three Mexicans and additional co-accused are remanded. The reports present the matter as an ongoing criminal case stemming from NDLEA investigations into illicit drug trafficking and production activities tied to the laboratory.
