FIFA is selling last-minute tickets for the 2026 World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19, with reported prices reaching into the tens of thousands of dollars. Multiple outlets say FIFA had nearly 1,200 tickets remaining on a last-minute sales platform, including about 1,178 “category two” seats priced at $7,380. Separate reports describe additional FIFA inventory: 68 lower-deck “category one” tickets priced between $19,995 and $32,970, and remaining hospitality tickets in Trophy Lounge and Trophy Lounge+ sections priced around $34,500 and $32,500, respectively.
Alongside FIFA’s releases, outlets report that tickets also trade on resale platforms at much higher levels. Al Jazeera and others cite resale prices reaching very high figures, with at least one listing reported at $11.5 million. Other reports note that resale prices overall significantly exceed figures seen for major events like the Super Bowl. Some outlets also report that FIFA’s site had at times shown the final as sold out before additional tickets appeared, and FIFA did not immediately explain why the inventory became available.
