REC Limited signs two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Government of Tripura to provide financial support for power and renewable energy initiatives worth ₹15,000 crore. The agreements are signed during the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026. Under the first MoU, REC works with the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA) through the Department of Power to support renewable energy projects up to ₹5,000 crore. TREDA acts as the implementing or nodal agency for renewable power development in the state, while REC provides financing to enable investments in the green energy sector.
The second MoU is signed with the Department of Power, Government of Tripura, routed through the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL). This MoU covers power sector projects worth ₹10,000 crore. The partnership is intended to facilitate financing for key power initiatives, supporting expansion and modernization of Tripura’s power infrastructure and aiming to strengthen reliable electricity access.
