Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald has denied that Tom Brady was the unnamed person he previously referenced as a “conflict of interest” who helped Seattle before its Super Bowl LX victory over the New England Patriots. The clarification follows public speculation after Macdonald’s earlier comments drew attention to the identity of the individual who allegedly provided guidance to the Seahawks ahead of the game.
In a follow-up conversation with Zach Gelb of WEEI, Macdonald said Brady is not the mystery figure. Both outlets report that Gelb sought direct confirmation after Macdonald’s appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, prompting the coach to clarify that Brady was not involved in the way suggested by the initial remarks.
While Macdonald’s statement removes Brady from the speculation, he still does not publicly identify who offered the guidance. As a result, one offseason talking point remains unresolved: the true identity of the adviser referenced by the Seahawks coach prior to Super Bowl LX.
