The SBS drama “Agent Kim Reactivated” is using artificial intelligence to produce a major action scene, with multiple outlets reporting that it marks a first for K-dramas in commercial use of AI-generated video for a drama’s action sequence. The production company Morpheus Studio says the show includes a roughly three-minute sequence created with AI, which appears in the series’ first two episodes. The scene portrays the past of the protagonist, Manager Kim, played by So Ji-sub, during his years as a black-ops agent on a covert mission set in North Korea.
The AI-produced footage covers a range of action and spectacle, including building explosions, high-speed pursuits on snow-covered roads and through tunnels, vehicle rollovers and crashes, underwater submersion and recovery operations, gunfights, hand-to-hand combat, and close-up shots of Kim’s face. Korea Times reports the sequence is made using AICRON, an AI platform developed by Korean VFX specialists, underscoring the drama’s attempt to integrate AI tools for large-scale storytelling. The sequence is presented as a standalone use of AI to advance the early narrative flashback.
