The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reports multiple drug interdictions across Nigeria. In Lagos, NDLEA operatives intercept a commercial motorcycle (okada) rider, identified as Onyechere Daniel Chinadufor, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) after his arrival. The agency alleges he ingestes and carries 100 wraps of methamphetamine and is arrested.
In a separate case in Lagos, NDLEA seizes cannabis reportedly valued at more than N10.3 billion at the Apapa seaport. Daily Post Nigeria also reports the seizure of the cannabis haul during its roundup of major drug busts.
NDLEA further reports arrests related to heroin trafficking. One involves a South African woman arrested at Abuja airport in connection with an alleged heroin deal. Daily Post Nigeria describes this as involving 5.75kg of heroin, while Vanguard Nigeria also mentions an arrest of a South African woman and a son in connection with alleged heroin trafficking. The NDLEA says investigations are ongoing in these cases.
