Delhi’s Aam Mahotsav is underway for its 35th edition, starting July 3 at Dilli Haat in Janakpuri, organised by Delhi Tourism. Across the event, visitors can sample more than 400 mango varieties, with fruit reportedly brought in from different parts of India. The festival is presented as a celebration and showcase of mangoes, highlighting their variety in taste, colour and region of origin. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attends the event and speaks about the significance of mangoes in everyday life, describing their emotional connection to childhood. She also references the fruit’s broader symbolic value, noting that mangoes are seen as a diplomatic or cultural emblem. The festival provides a platform for showcasing the range of mango cultivars available in India and draws attention to their role in social and cultural traditions.
