In statements signed by the state chairman, Hassan Fatai, and the state secretary, Salami Olukayode, the NUT says the incident is disturbing and points to continuing security challenges affecting teachers and education workers. The union expresses solidarity with Owoade’s family, colleagues, and pupils, and prays for his safe return. It also appeals for intensified efforts to secure the headmaster’s rescue and to ensure the safety of teachers and other citizens in their communities and workplaces, urging vigilance among education workers as the search continues.
