AI’s infrastructure race is accelerating on several fronts. Nvidia is reportedly discussing a huge financing backstop for OpenAI tied to a planned Ohio data-center hub, underscoring how capital-intensive the next wave of AI computing has become. At the same time, Nvidia is also helping launch the Open Secure AI Alliance with Microsoft, IBM and others, a sign that as models grow more powerful, securing them is becoming a parallel industry priority—even as major frontier labs remain outside the effort. Markets are rewarding the AI buildout too: China’s CXMT soared on its Shanghai debut, briefly becoming the mainland’s most valuable listed company as investors bet on booming demand for memory chips. Elsewhere, Apple is taking a more consumer-facing approach to ecosystem expansion, rolling out its AppleCare One subscription to more countries and bundling protection across multiple devices.
