Reports say Xiaomi is preparing to expand its Redmi “number series” after the Redmi 17C 4G launched in China earlier this year. Multiple outlets reference a leak about a new phone, the Redmi 17 4G, described as a successor to the Redmi 15. Ahead of an anticipated debut, alleged renders have circulated online showing the handset’s design and color options. The leak also lists the expected hardware and software.

According to the reported specifications, the Redmi 17 4G is said to come in Black, Deep Blue, Lotus Purple, and Oak Green. The device is reported to weigh about 232g and have a thickness of about 8.8mm. For performance, the leak points to a MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chipset. Storage configurations mentioned include 4GB/128GB and 6GB/256GB. The phone is also said to run an Android 16-based version of Xiaomi’s HyperOS, referred to in the leak as HyperOS 3.

The information is based on online reporting and leaked materials and has not been confirmed by Xiaomi.
