Air India rolls out an updated version of its mobile application, adding tools aimed at simplifying booking, payments and passenger support during travel. The airline says the revamp introduces an in-house internet booking engine with a faster, responsive interface for searching flights, making bookings and adding ancillaries. Air India also adds an in-house payment orchestration platform intended to improve the payment experience and enable India-specific innovations and offers.

For disruptions, the app provides contextual support from the home screen, including hotel accommodation and transportation assistance. The upgraded app also enhances existing features such as a personalised, context-aware home screen showing upcoming trip details, boarding passes and travel offers, along with flight status updates. Air India highlights continued integration with DigiYatra to streamline airport processes.

Several outlets also report that the app consolidates services such as baggage tracking, loyalty management and AI-enabled assistance, including an AI virtual assistant for travel queries and additional AI features for itinerary assistance and information retrieval. Air India’s Chief Digital and Technology Officer Satya Ramaswamy says the app is already downloaded nearly 17 million times, serving over 100,000 users daily.
