Twenty-four king cobra hatchlings are released into the Sankaram Reserve Forest in Anakapalli after a community-led conservation effort protects a nest for nearly six weeks. The nest is discovered on June 6, 2026, in Rajampeta village. Following the discovery, residents and volunteers conduct round-the-clock monitoring to ensure the eggs are not disturbed while they develop and hatch. After about six weeks of protection, all 24 eggs hatch successfully. The hatchlings are then released into the forest on July 17. Both reports describe the effort as a successful example of local participation in safeguarding wildlife during the incubation period, from nest discovery and continuous guarding through to the final release of the newly hatched cobras into their natural habitat. The accounts emphasize the timeline—from June 6 discovery, to the hatching window of roughly six weeks, to the July 17 release—while attributing the outcome to uninterrupted monitoring and careful handling that avoids interference with the nest.
