A 70-year-old woman is charged with the murder of Karen Carter, a British expat found dead after being stabbed outside her home in Trémolat, in France’s Dordogne region. Multiple reports say Carter was attacked in April of last year, with injuries described as multiple stab wounds, and that she died after returning home following a social outing, including a wine tasting. The Guardian reports that a public prosecutor for the region says the suspect was initially arrested shortly after Carter’s death on 29 April and later placed “under judicial supervision.” The charge is reported to have been formally issued on 2 July.
