The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released guidelines for the Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026 practical component. CBSE states that practical exams will be held from July 29 to August 4, 2026. Students who need to reappear for practicals, or for both theory and practical, are required to coordinate with their schools or allotted examination centres. The board instructs eligible candidates to contact their school or centre by July 27, 2026, carrying their result/marksheet and admit card, to receive details of their practical schedule. CBSE clarifies that practical attendance is mandatory for two categories: Repeat Practical (RP) students, who appear only for the practical exam because their theory marks are carried forward, and Repeat Theory and Practical Both (RB) students, who appear for both components during the supplementary examinations. Practical exams will be conducted at students’ respective schools for regular candidates, while private candidates will take practicals at centres allotted for their theory exams; if a centre lacks laboratory facilities for a subject, CBSE Regional Offices arrange the exam at a nearby facility. CBSE also directs that regional offices appoint external examiners and that practical marks be uploaded on the same day of the examination, with marks treated as final.
