Gujarat launches a new e-Zero FIR mechanism for cyber financial fraud cases, allowing victims to register complaints from home. According to reports, complaints made through India’s national cybercrime helpline number 1930 automatically generate an e-Zero FIR. The system then forwards the e-Zero FIR electronically to the police station that has jurisdiction over the case. This process is designed to reduce delays by initiating the formal filing procedure immediately after the complaint is lodged. After the e-Zero FIR is transmitted to the concerned police station, authorities proceed with further investigation and legal action under the applicable process. The initiative is focused specifically on cyber financial fraud complaints, using the existing cybercrime helpline as the entry point for registration. Both sources describe the same workflow: a complaint placed on 1930 results in an e-Zero FIR that is forwarded digitally for onward action by the relevant local police unit.
