Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo addresses Nigerians living in the United Kingdom at a town hall meeting in London, urging them to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and support development in Nigeria and Kogi State. According to reports, Ododo encourages the diaspora—especially Kogites—to help improve Nigeria’s image abroad and to channel investment, expertise, and international networks into nation-building. He links progress in Kogi to unity among residents and says the state has achieved transformation by rising above ethnic and religious divisions.

Ododo also points to specific reforms he attributes to Tinubu, including the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange system, describing them as difficult but necessary decisions that strengthen states’ capacity to fund infrastructure and social services. The governor further cites federal measures affecting Kogi, including approval for a Kogi International Airport, development of a Free Trade Zone, agricultural processing projects, and renewed efforts connected to reviving the Ajaokuta Steel Company.

Participants and a representative from his constituency commend Ododo’s development efforts and pledge support for his agenda, with attendees expressing interest in mobilising resources and expertise for further change.
