Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited reports a sharp increase in consolidated performance for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27. The company posts net profit of ₹1,308.84 crore, up from ₹504.50 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Consolidated revenue from operations rises to ₹2,005.36 crore, compared with ₹1,201.47 crore year-on-year, and total income increases to ₹2,286.21 crore (up from ₹1,336.88 crore). Total expenses also increase to ₹921.43 crore from ₹800.92 crore.
The company’s board declares an interim dividend of ₹14.40 per equity share for 2026-27. NDTV and Free Press Journal state that 7 August 2026 is the record date for determining eligible shareholders, with dividend payment scheduled on or after 27 August 2026.
In the quarter, the company delivers tankers and also undertakes fleet changes, including deliveries of vessels mentioned in its filings and contracts for additional ships with delivery after the quarter end. Free Press Journal also notes earnings per share increases to ₹91.68 (basic) and ₹91.49 (diluted) for the quarter, versus ₹35.34 and ₹35.27 respectively a year earlier.
