Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi says that, if he ever gets the chance to question God, he would ask why God allowed him to leave his “comfort place” and enter politics. Speaking to supporters, the former Anambra State governor said that as a politician, he would want to understand why he stepped out of his comfort zone to take on public roles. He also said people should see their current position as where God wants them to be, and that they should work for the benefit of the masses. Obi added that he is in politics by God’s grace and that he should not “abuse” that grace, whether in private life, corporate activities, or government.

The reports also recap Obi’s political path. He began his career as governor of Anambra State under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), later moved to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and served as its presidential running mate. In 2023, he defected to the Labour Party (LP), ran for president, and finished third. He is now seeking the presidency in 2027 on the NDC platform.
