Syrian Airlines is resuming direct passenger flights between Damascus and Moscow, restoring regular nonstop service after a suspension following the fall of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government. Multiple outlets report that the new route marks the first time direct air travel between the two countries has restarted since that political change.
According to the airline schedule cited by one outlet, the nonstop service is set to begin later this month. Flights are scheduled to depart once a week, every Sunday, with the journey taking about four hours and 50 minutes. The service will arrive at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport.
One report also notes that ticketing is initially limited: economy-class fares are listed at around $350, and tickets can be purchased through Syrian Airlines’ official website or mobile application, as the flights have not yet appeared on major travel booking platforms.
The Moscow Times describes the resumed Syrian flights as part of the broader restart of direct travel links between Syria and Russia, presenting it as the first resumption of direct air service since the Assad regime ended.
