The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) appoints Ruth Kulundu as acting Chief Executive Officer and Commission Secretary after the end of Moses Ledama Sunkuli’s term. According to an internal communication attributed to IEBC chairperson Erastus Ethekon, Kulundu takes over effective 5 August 2026. She is appointed for a two-month period or until the IEBC completes the recruitment of a substantive CEO, whichever comes first. During this interim time, she is expected to guide the IEBC secretariat.
