Automobile sales in Canada increase for a second consecutive month in July, according to DesRosiers Automotive Consultants Inc. The firm estimates about 173,000 vehicles are sold in July, up slightly from roughly 172,000 vehicles in the same month of 2025. DesRosiers also reports the year-over-year gain follows a prior month showing improvement.
The outlets attribute the update to Andrew King, managing partner at DesRosiers, who comments on the significance of the small increase. While the gain is modest—described in one report as about a 0.5 per cent rise compared with July 2025—the trend indicates sales are trending higher than the previous year after a period of weaker demand.
The reports use DesRosiers’ estimates rather than final registration totals and present the July figures as an early indicator of market direction for the summer period. Overall, both sources agree on the central point: July sales increase slightly compared with a year earlier, continuing the second consecutive month of gains.
