The Social Weather Survey (SWS) reports that Filipinos give the United States and Japan “good” net trust ratings, while China, Palestine, and Iran receive “poor” net trust ratings. SWS released results from its non-commissioned second quarter 2026 Social Weather Survey on Thursday. The survey is conducted nationwide among 1,200 Filipinos aged 18 and above, fielded from June 20 to 29. According to the reported findings, the United States has a net trust rating of +42, with 60 percent of respondents saying they “much trust” the United States and 18 percent expressing distrust. Japan has a net trust rating of +36, with 55 percent saying they trust Japan “much,” and 19 percent indicating “little trust.” In contrast, China, Palestine, and Iran are assessed as having “poor” net trust ratings. The SWS figures reflect respondents’ relative trust or distrust as captured in the survey period, based on the net trust measure reported by the pollster.
