Microsoft is rolling out a new Windows 11 test to users in the Windows 11 Insider program, available in the Experimental channel. The change focuses on two user interface options: the taskbar and the Start menu. In the test, users can move the taskbar to any side of the screen, with options including the bottom, top, left, or right positions. Microsoft is also letting Insiders adjust the size of the Start menu, giving users more control over the layout compared with the default configuration.
Both outlets report that these features are currently limited to Insiders and are part of Microsoft’s ongoing experimentation, rather than a widely available release. Microsoft previously previewed the idea of a movable taskbar, and this latest build makes the capability available to eligible testers. As with other Insider updates, the features may change based on feedback and further development before any potential broader rollout.
