HD Hyundai Heavy Industries signs a large contract to provide power generation equipment totaling 1,000 megawatts for U.S. data center projects. The company says the deal is worth about $673.8 million and involves additional orders in the U.S. data center power-generation equipment market.
Korea Times reports the agreement is valued at 956 billion won (about $675.6 million) and is signed with Corban Energy Group, a U.S.-based energy infrastructure developer. The equipment is described as using HD Hyundai’s 9.6-megawatt HiMSEN engines, which are medium-speed units designed for efficient, reliable around-the-clock operation. The data center end user is a major U.S. tech company, though HD Hyundai does not disclose its name.
Both outlets describe the HiMSEN-based supply as HD Hyundai’s largest-ever power generation engine supply contract. Korea Times also places the announcement in context of prior activity, noting a separate April agreement worth 627.1 billion won with Aperion Energy Group for data center power generation equipment.
