Earlier this week, Maharashtra FDA suspended the food licence of a Blinkit facility in Mumbai after inspectors reportedly found unhygienic conditions and cockroach infestation.

A recent inspection by food safety authorities at a Zepto warehouse uncovered concerning hygienic failures. This resulted in a penalty for Zepto due to poor cleanliness at an alternative site. During inspections in Bengaluru, widespread issues were discovered throughout hotels and food vendors, including expired products and signs of fungal growth. As a consequence, over 100kg of food and used cooking oil was seized from the inspected locations.
