Google rolls out a new feature update for its Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds starting in September, adding software improvements alongside a new “Olive” finish. The update introduces Dynamic ANC, which adjusts noise cancellation as the earbuds’ fit changes.

The update also expands how the earbuds work with Google services and wearables. Gemini controls are added to the earbuds, and sleep detection is improved through Pixel Watch syncing, including pausing playback and disabling touch controls when the wearer falls asleep. Live Translate is enhanced to support two-way conversations across more than 70 languages, building on the earbuds’ existing translation features.

Across the two outlets, the shared emphasis is on the same set of changes—Dynamic ANC, Gemini controls, sleep synchronization, and expanded Live Translate—while both note the addition of the Olive color option. Neither source indicates major hardware changes; the earbuds are described as keeping existing core specifications, including the Tensor A1 chip.
