Fintech startup Navi Ltd., founded by Sachin Bansal, is in talks to hire banks to manage a potential initial public offering (IPO) in India. Multiple reports say the company plans to raise as much as ₹30 billion (about $315 million), valuing it at up to around $2 billion, and could begin formal steps for the listing soon.
The outlets agree that Navi is expected to involve a primary share sale, with no secondary offering by existing shareholders. Reports also state that Navi has appointed advisers including JM Financial, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan. Bloomberg notes the IPO process in India is being formally kicked off, while other reporting specifies the fundraising size in rupees and points to a possible prospectus filing by December. The proposed size, valuation and timing are described as subject to change.
Context-wise, Navi previously filed draft IPO papers in March 2022 and later deferred the listing after receiving regulatory approval. The company’s business spans lending, mutual funds, health insurance, and UPI payments, and it is preparing for another push toward public markets amid broader activity by other Indian financial-services firms.
