A consumer commission in Haryana orders Apple India to refund Rs 45,500 for a faulty iPhone 15 reported to overheat repeatedly and have connectivity problems. The case is linked to complaints that the phone also faces issues affecting Bluetooth and network performance.
The Rohtak consumer commission ruling concludes that the device shows service deficiencies during the warranty period. Apple India argues that the problem stems from unauthorized modifications to the handset. However, the commission finds no proof that the customer tampered with the device.
Beyond the refund, the commission also directs Apple India to pay additional compensation and costs. Times of India reports the order includes Rs 10,000 for compensation and costs, while NDTV focuses on the Rs 45,500 refund for overheating and connectivity complaints.
