A Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports holds discussions with senior NTA officials after an alleged NEET-UG paper leak. Multiple reports say the committee summons or grills the NTA chief (and other education ministry officials) to seek an update on the alleged leak and to review steps for improving the National Testing Agency’s examination processes.
The NTA tells the committee that the leak did not occur through its system, according to coverage by several outlets. The committee also discusses the investigation underway, with the CBI identified as the agency probing the matter. Alongside the leak case, the committee reviews implementation of NTA reforms, including the status of the K Radhakrishnan Committee’s recommendations, and examines operational challenges facing the NTA.
Separately, reports note that the panel meeting also includes broader consideration of exam security enhancements and NTA capacity issues such as staff shortages. One report also says the immediate priority discussed by the NTA is ensuring the smooth and fair conduct of the examination scheduled for June 21.
