MP suspends Katni CSP Neha Pachisia over alleged coercion and fraud in land deal

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ordered the immediate suspension of Katni CSP Neha Pachisia. A case was registered against her for alleged coercion and fraud in land purchase. The high court dismissed Pachisia's petition, denying her interim relief. Investigators found financial irregularities and pressure on the land seller. The police department has adopted a strict legal stance against the accused officers.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): On the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the state government has suspended Katni CSP Neha Pachisia in a land grab case here on Friday. Earlier on Thursday, Katni police registered the case against the officer.The CM made it clear that negligence, pressure or abuse of power at any level will not be tolerated in matters related to law and order. A fair investigation and strict action against the culprits will be ensured, an official said.After the suspension of the officer, the office has been sealed by Katni police.The name of the officer came to light when a family of a murder case accused made serious allegations against her, claiming they were pressured to sell land, broker a deal and pay Rs 75 lakh in exchange for getting the accused released from jail.The complainant, Ramesh Lodhi, resident of the Kuthla police station, in his complaint said that his land worth Rs 82,86,930 was forcefully taken for just Rs 18.20 lakh by the officer, who told him to transfer the land in the name of one Maruf Ahmed Hanafi.The matter was reported to the Chief Minister, DGP and other officials.The vigilance department of the PHQ instituted an enquiry and asked the IG Jabalpur to conduct the enquiry under his guidance.An IPS officer was appointed and conducted the enquiry.Probe flags suspicious fund transfersAn in-depth investigation conducted by Jabalpur's additional superintendent of police Anu Beniwal found that Hanafi, in whose name the land was bought, did not have funds in his bank for the purchase.As per the probe, there were only Rs 3,036 in the account on July 11, 2025, the official said.On April 15, 2026, the day of the registration, Rs 15 lakh were suddenly transferred to Hanafi's account. As per the probe, Rs 10 lakh were transferred to his account from Shine Partners' account and Rs 5 lakh from one Kshitij Raj Barapatre's account, the official said.The investigators also found that the bank accounts of both Shine Partners and Barapatre share the same PAN number.According to the investigation report, Barapatre is believed to be a close associate, relative, or business partner of the CSP.Case registered for fraud, coercion, conspiracyKatni Superintendent of police Abhinav Vishwakarma said that based on a complaint from the Bhopal Vigilance Branch and the instructions of the Jabalpur Zone, a case was registered against the CSP and other accused at the Kuthla police station in Katni on charges of fraud, coercion and criminal conspiracy.Class 9 Student Abducted, Raped By Youth And Neighbour In Bhopal

The entire matter relates to a transaction involving land owned by one Ramesh Lodhi that falls under the Kuthla police station limits. A departmental investigation found that the actual value of this land, according to government guidelines, was Rs 82,86,930.But by allegedly abusing the police machinery and her position, the CSP coerced the Lodhi family to sell the land at only Rs 18,20,000 in the name of Maruf Ahmed Hanafi.
