A protest at Islamabad’s Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUSIT) turns tense after a clash involving students and a uniformed security official, according to multiple reports. A security official is taken into custody and is set to face disciplinary action under military law, sources familiar with the investigation say.

The reports link the incident to student agitation over the dismissal of a senior official and other varsity-related issues, which unfold at the university’s Chattha Bakhtawar campus. Widely shared social media footage shows the uniformed individual approaching protesting students, an exchange of heated words, and a scuffle involving at least one stick. In the video accounts, the situation escalates when the officer draws a pistol and points it during the confrontation, after which police officers move in.

One outlet adds that a woman accompanying the official appears to try to intervene. Another later video shows a senior Islamabad police officer speaking to students. Across the reports, no official statement is issued by police, security forces, or the university at the time of reporting, and the custody and disciplinary process are said to follow army disciplinary procedures pending inquiry findings.
