A fan-made mod for Red Dead Redemption 2, titled Nuevo Paraiso—The Forgotten Frontier, is releasing next month and adds an expanded Mexico setting to Rockstar’s western. Sources report that modders have long been interested in recreating Mexico in the game, since Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in states like New Austin and West Elizabeth without crossing into Mexico.

The mod is described as one of the most detailed Mexico attempts yet, based on a new trailer and a growing project. It restores and recreates locations from Red Dead Redemption (the first game) and adds content such as new settlements, gang hideouts, treasure hunts, minigames, bounty-hunter missions, and random encounters. One outlet also highlights the mod’s “Sadie Adler” protagonist option, noting the character’s mention of moving to South America.

Sources frame the project as unofficial story expansion work that Rockstar has not provided, with the developer team emphasizing an immersive, historically inspired portrayal. The project is scheduled for a September 16 release and will be available for free on PC via Nexus Mods.
