Primate Ayodele warns APC and Tinubu against overconfidence ahead of 2027 election

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu not to rely on overconfidence or financial influence ahead of the 2027 presidential election.In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele stressed that the ruling party risks rejection if it assumes money and political machinery alone can secure victory.“Overconfidence will kill APC; they will be too overconfident, and that will be the party’s weakness in the election. They believe money can do everything, but it will fail in 2027,” he said.The cleric noted that hardship and insecurity have hardened ordinary Nigerians, who will resist attempts to sway them with financial inducements. He warned that portraying Tinubu as a “demi-god” could backfire, leading to widespread disapproval.Ayodele further argued that the Presidential Campaign Council cannot change public sentiment unless the government addresses pressing national issues. He urged Tinubu to urgently ease the suffering of citizens, warning that failure to do so would result in “massive rejection” across the country.“If President Tinubu thinks the campaign council will change the minds of Nigerians, it’s a pure lie. The people are going through so much hardship, and not solving these problems before the election will lead to serious rejection,” he added.
