The spinoff is co-created by “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes, who also serves as an executive producer, and Meg Marinis, who is credited as a co-creator and as executive producer and showrunner for the series in recent seasons. Variety and The Hollywood Reporter add that Rhimes and Marinis are co-writing the first script.
