Hanwha Aerospace says it has signed a contract with Spain’s Indra Sistemas S.A. to export K9 self-propelled howitzers. The company made the announcement in a regulatory filing, describing the agreement as its first move into the Western European market for the K9 platform.
Hanwha Aerospace does not disclose the contract’s financial terms or the delivery timeline, citing confidentiality. It says the payment structure includes an initial payment equivalent to 20% of the contract value after signing, followed by an additional 5% by the end of the year.
The deal is also presented as expanding the K9’s fielded base: the contract would increase the number of countries operating the self-propelled howitzer to 11. Other reporting adds that the transaction is covered as an export arrangement tied to the company’s K9 program, though details beyond the existence of the agreement and the commercial milestones are limited.
