Singapore’s road pricing scheme (ERP) is set to resume in the Orchard Road area for the first time since 2020. Coverage will include 11 locations within the Orchard cordon, with charges scheduled to restart from 7 September.
According to reports, weekday charges will apply at a rate of S$1 at the specified sites. The charge window runs between 11am and 7pm, aimed at managing traffic flow and easing congestion in the area. The plan restores ERP operations in Orchard after a long pause since the scheme last operated there in 2020, with the restart confined to the designated cordon locations.
While the outlets align on the restart date, number of locations, rate and timing, they frame the move primarily as a return of ERP operations (CNA) and as a measure to ease congestion on Orchard Road (The Straits Times). Both describe the same charge level and weekday schedule.
