Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to review the performance of 16 defence public sector undertakings (DPSUs), with the Defence Ministry citing a rise in financial performance for FY 2025-26. The DPSUs’ total turnover increases by 15.4% to ₹1.29 lakh crore, according to the ministry.

Alongside the turnover growth, the ministry reports that cumulative Profit After Tax (PAT) across the DPSUs reaches ₹23,136 crore in FY 2025-26, up 15.6% from the previous year. Exports also expand sharply, rising 151.2% year-on-year compared with FY 2024-25.

Other coverage highlights that while performance indicators improve, past evaluations by parliamentary standing committees on defence and the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) have raised concerns. These concerns focus on the need to improve performance and to address systemic and operational loopholes. The annual review is framed against this backdrop of both financial gains and ongoing scrutiny of execution and governance.
