Apple TV first announced the show in May, with Marsden already attached to star as the lead. “Disavowed” is based on an original idea by Art Marcum and is created by Marcum and Matt Holloway (credited with work including “Iron Man” and “Uncharted”). The series centers on Brad Griffin, a CIA case officer portrayed by Marsden, who is fired abruptly, setting up the action-thriller premise.
While all three outlets confirm Reedus’ casting and his pairing with Marsden, they provide limited character specifics, focusing instead on production credits and the show’s basic plot setup. All reports describe the project as an action-oriented spy thriller and agree that Reedus’ role is not yet public.
