Maharashtra is working on a time-bound plan to speed up development of a proposed AI Innovation City near Navi Mumbai International Airport in partnership with the Tata Group, a senior government official says. Government officials say the project involves an $11 billion investment announced jointly with Tata Group and is intended to create a hub for artificial intelligence and related industries. The planned facilities include large-scale AI data centres, high-performance computing infrastructure, semiconductor-related activities, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The state also says it will support the ecosystem through universities, healthcare facilities, and other knowledge institutions to develop a skilled workforce.
