The Pentagon removes an online page describing Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s testosterone screening requirements for troops, shortly after the guidance is posted. The department’s website previously linked to “Clinical Guidance for Health and Human Performance Optimization,” which outlined testosterone-deficiency screening for service members aged 30 and older, and also included information for male and female personnel.

In the hours after publication, the link changes to “PAGE NOT FOUND.” A Reuters report, cited by PinkNews, says the draft document published September 2, 2026 is “temporarily rescinded to allow for updates,” without giving a timeline or detailing what changes are planned. As a result, the current status of the program and any modifications remain unclear.

Hegseth announced the initiative the previous month, saying service members aged 30 and older would be tested annually as part of periodic health assessments, while those under 30 could choose to be tested. He also stated that any recommended treatment would be optional, including whether to receive testosterone replacement therapy.
