The Trump White House releases a website of retro-style arcade video games that depict deporting migrants and building a border wall. The games use “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) branding and present border policies as interactive challenges.
According to multiple outlets citing AFP reporting, the lineup includes “Rio Run,” an updated “Snake”-style game in which a digital depiction of U.S. border czar Tom Homan chases migrants along the Rio Grande with different skin colours. Another game, “Build the Wall,” is built on a “Tetris”-like format. Additional games also reference the administration’s immigration and policy priorities, including “Trump accounts” linked to investment accounts described as requiring a deposit for children born between 2025 and 2028.
Rights groups and community advocates criticize the launch, saying it trivializes or dehumanizes migrants at a time when the administration increases mass arrests and deportations. They argue the games frame serious life-and-death issues as entertainment. The White House says the project is meant to “innovate” and present the administration’s accomplishments in a style it describes as engaging and “fun,” contrasting it with Democrats’ “dark socialist vision.”
