The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says it has no hand in Uber’s decision to discontinue ride-hailing operations in Nigeria. FAAN Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku, speaking on Friday, denies that the airport authority was responsible for the company’s exit and says Uber’s move reflects its own economic and regulatory considerations.
FAAN also describes its broader disputes with e-hailing companies as focused on how services operate around airports. According to Premium Times, the authority’s disagreements centre on passenger safety, accountability, and commercial pick-ups within airport premises.
