The Los Angeles Sparks hire Ariana Andonian as their new general manager, sources say. The move comes as the franchise looks to reshape its front office and team direction.

Andonian has been with the Philadelphia 76ers organization, most recently working as a vice president of player personnel. Multiple reports say negotiations were discussed with anonymity because those involved were not authorized to comment publicly. She replaces Raegan Pebley, with the Sparks parting ways with Pebley in July after about 2½ years with the team.

One outlet also reports that the Sparks’ hiring is part of a rebuild effort. Another report adds that the search process was led by Farhan Zaidi, special advisor to Sparks owner Mark Walter. The outlets’ differing emphasis centers on the negotiation and leadership details versus the stated goal of rebuilding the team, but all describe the same appointment and replacement.
