Geetu Mohandas’ film ‘Toxic,’ starring Yash and Nayanthara, is reported to have flopped at the box office despite a strong start, and that performance is now affecting its post-theatrical OTT deal. After an opening of about ₹101.10 crore net across languages, the film’s earnings drop over subsequent days, leaving its domestic net total reported at ₹245.75 crore.

Ahead of release, multiple reports say the producers had not fully sold the film’s digital streaming rights. Earlier, an OTT platform was reportedly willing to pay around ₹150 crore, while the makers were said to be seeking ₹200 crore. After the theatrical run, the reported asking price and offers appear to have shifted. Sources quoted by outlets indicate digital players are now offering as low as ₹30 crore for post-theatrical streaming rights across languages, with Zee5 reportedly making the highest offer.

Both reports note there is no official confirmation of the OTT deal value, and some claims include that the makers are considering a new edit for the digital version to improve the final deal.
