The Bihar government will felicitate 168 topper students from the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Intermediate and Matriculation Annual Examinations 2026. The awards include cash prizes based on rank and an additional incentive to support laptop purchases.

According to reports, the felicitation ceremony is scheduled for September 9 at 12 noon in Patna, organised under the Education Department’s programme. NDTV says the state will honour 168 top students with cash awards and laptop funds, while the Free Press Journal provides further details on the award structure. It states first, second and third position winners in both examinations receive ₹2 lakh, ₹1.5 lakh and ₹1 lakh respectively, with smaller cash amounts for lower ranks. It also reports that all 168 recipients are given ₹51,000 towards buying a laptop.

While the sources agree on the number of students, the involvement of the BSEB examinations, and the combination of cash plus laptop support, they differ mainly in the level of detail about the prize amounts and the schedule and venue. The Free Press Journal also names officials associated with the event, including the Education Minister and listed guests.
