Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) says it plans to introduce more than 10 new models in India by 2030, as part of a broader growth strategy that also focuses on cost competitiveness. HCIL President and CEO Takashi Nakajima made the announcement after the company launched a new version of its hybrid sedan City and unveiled the premium SUV ZR-V in India. HCIL said the City hybrid is priced from Rs 11.99 lakh at introductory rollout.

Nakajima also said HCIL will launch its first full electric vehicle in the second half of the ongoing fiscal year. For the 2030 model pipeline, Honda says it is counting more than 10 models and is structuring future launches around two vehicle length categories: sub-4-metre vehicles and the midsize segment. The company said these segments will support multiple powertrains, including internal combustion engines, hybrids, and battery electric vehicles. Honda also indicated it will use a mix of India-specific models and fully imported global models, such as the ZR-V.

HCIL added that India is one of Honda Motor Co’s three key focus markets for future growth, alongside North America and Japan, and described the current year as featuring six strategic launches.
