Phil Collins says his health has improved but he will not perform at this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. In interviews, the musician indicates he is “healthier” than he has been for some time and says he would “contemplate” future live performances, though he also suggests it is not certain. Collins, now 75, has previously discussed health challenges related to a spinal injury and resulting nerve damage, and he has said he was unable to work on music for periods. During Genesis’ 2022 farewell tour, Collins was not able to play drums and his son, Nic Collins, covered the role.
Multiple outlets report that Collins tells BBC Breakfast that he can’t really see performing live happening at this stage, but he emphasizes that his overall condition is better now than it has been. He also reiterates that he will not take the stage at the November induction event.
